CookScanner.com (referred to here as “CookScanner”, “Website”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is a community where people can hire the services of cooks and/or chefs.
1. Website Visitors
Like most website operators, the Platform collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Platform purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how Website’s visitors use it. From time to time, we may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.
The Platform also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged in users and for users leaving comments on https://cookscanner.com/blog/. The Platform only discloses logged in user and commenter IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information as described below.
2. Personally-Identifying Data
Certain visitors to the Websites choose to interact with the Platform in ways that require to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that the Platform gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, we ask visitors who sign up for an account at https://cookscanner.com/ to provide a username and email address.
We receive, store and process information, including personal information, that you make available to us when accessing or using our Platform and Services when you:
- fill in any form on the Platform, such as when you register or update the details of your user account, or when you supply ID and other verification information;
- access or use the Platform, such as to search for cooks and chefs
- link your account on a Third-Party site (e.g. Facebook) to your Cookscanner Account, in which case we will obtain the Personal Information that you have provided to the Third-Party site, to the extent allowed by your settings with the Third-Party site and authorized by you;
- communicate with Cookscanner; and share information with another people that are using the Cookscanner platform.
4. Customer Data
Customer Data is all the data, including all text, audio, software, documents, presentations, or image files that you provide, or are provided on your behalf, to us through your use of the Platform but does not include Contact Data, Usage Data or Support Data.
CookScanner makes no claim of ownership to the Customer Data, we only use Customer Data to provide and enhance the Platform. We do not share Customer Data with advertisers, or with anybody else, except in the very limited circumstances described in the Sharing Your Information section below.
5. Contact Data
Contact Data includes name, address, phone number, profile information, email address, title, time zone and other contact information that may be collected through administration and use of the Platform. Contact Data provided by you as part of your account profile is available to other Members of the Platform in which the profile resides. Subject to your contact preferences, your Contact Data may be made generally available to other Members of Platform.
CookScanner uses Contact Data to complete the transactions you request, administer your account, improve the Services and detect and prevent fraud.
We may also use Contact Data to contact you to provide information about new subscriptions, billing and important updates about the Platform, including information about security or other technical issues. We may also contact you regarding third-party inquiries.
Subject to your contact preferences, we may also use Contact Data to contact you regarding information and offers about the Platform, other products and services or to request your feedback. Subject to your contact preferences, we may also use Contact Data to direct Third Party Offerings to you.
6. Usage Data
We may use statistical data, analytics, trends and usage information derived from your use of the Platform. Usage Data includes, but is not limited to, aggregated quantitative information about active Members, activity, topics, and groups. Some of the ways we use the Usage Data include operating, marketing, improving and personalizing the Platform and our offerings, as well as other products and services. Except to provide reports to you or others in your organization, we do not disclose Usage Data in a way that is identifiable to you or your organization or Members in your Platform account.
7. Support Data
Support Data is the information collected when a support request is submitted, including information about hardware, software, and other details related to the support incident, such as: contact or authentication information, chat session personalization, information about the condition of the computer and the application when the fault occurred and during diagnostics, system and registry data about software installations and hardware configurations, and error-tracking files.
Support may be provided through phone, e-mail, or online chat. Phone conversations, email or online chat sessions, with support professionals may be recorded and/or monitored. Following a support incident, we may send you a survey about your experience and offerings. You may opt-out of support
We use Support Data solely to provide and enhance the services offered to you and other Members. To review and edit your personal information collected through our support services, and for any other inquiries regarding our support services, please contact us by using our Web form.
Some business customers may purchase enhanced support offerings. These offerings are covered by their own contract terms and notices.
8. Mobile Data
When you use certain features of the Platform, in particular our mobile applications we may receive, store and process different types of information about your location, including general information (e.g. IP address, zip code) and more specific information (e.g. GPS-based functionality on mobile devices used to access the Platform or specific features of the platform). If you access the Platform through a mobile device and you do not want your device to provide us with location-tracking information, you can disable the GPS or other location-tracking functions on your device, provided your device allows you to do this. See your device manufacturer’s instructions for further details.
9. Log Data
We may also receive, store and process Log Data, which is information that is automatically recorded by our servers whenever you access or use the Platform, regardless of whether you are registered with CookScanner or logged in to your CookScanner Account, such as your IP Address, the date and time you access or use the Platform, the hardware and software you are using, referring and exit pages and URLs, the number of clicks, device event information, pages viewed and the order of those pages, and the amount of time spent on particular pages.
10. How we use/processes the data
For the following purposes
- to enable you to access and use the Platform;
- to enable you to communicate with other Members, including but not limited to by sending them messages or other information during the booking process;
- to operate, protect, improve and optimize the Platform, personalize or otherwise customize your experience, and to provide customer service;
- to help create and maintain a trusted and safer environment on the. In this regard, we may do any or all of the foregoing with or without further notifying you;
- to send you service, support and administrative messages, reminders, technical notices, updates, security alerts, and information requested by you;
- to send you marketing, advertising, and promotional messages and other information that may be of interest to you;
- to comply with our legal obligations.
11. Protection of Certain Personally-Identifying Data
We disclose potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations that need to know that information in order to process it on CookScanner’s behalf or to provide services available at CookScanner’s website, and that have agreed not to disclose it to others. If you are a registered user of http://www.company.com/ and have supplied your email address, CookScanner may occasionally send you an email to tell you about new features, solicit your feedback, or just keep you up to date with what’s going on with CookScanner and our products. We primarily use our blog to communicate this type of information, so we expect to keep this type of email to a minimum. If you send us a request (for example via a support email or via one of our feedback mechanisms), we reserve the right to publish it in order to help us clarify or respond to your request or to help us support other users. CookScanner takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information.
12. When CookScanner discloses or shares your data
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others rights, property, or safety. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.

In the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets.
14. We protect your data
We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you place an order or enter, submit, or access your personal information.
We offer the use of a secure server. All supplied sensitive/credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our Payment gateway providers database only to be accessible by those authorized with special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential.
15. Access/change/delete your data, or cancel your account
You may review, update, correct or delete the Personal Information in your CookScanner Account. If you would like to correct your information or cancel your account entirely, you can do so by logging in to your account. Please also note that any reviews, forum postings and similar materials posted by you may continue to be publicly available on the platform in association with your first name, even after your account is cancelled.
16. Links to External Parties
Our Service may contain links to external sites that are not operated by us, but by Third-Parties such as Facebook’s Like Button and so on. If you click on a third party link, you will be directed to that Third-Party's site. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third party sites, products or services.
As a result of this, you may send to the Third-Party the information that you are viewing on a certain part of our Platform. If you are not logged into your account with the Third-Party, then the Third Party may not know your identity. If you are logged into your account with the Third Party, then the Third Party may be able to link information about your visit to our Platform to your account with them. Similarly, your interactions with the social plugin may be recorded by the Third Party.
17. Securing your personal information
We are continuously implementing and updating administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information against unauthorized access, destruction or alteration. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, and no method of storing electronic information, can be 100% secure. So, we cannot guarantee the security of your transmissions to us and of your Personal Information that we store.
18. Cookies and other Tracking Technologies
While you may disable the usage of cookies through your browser settings, we do not change our practices in response to a “Do Not Track” signal in the HTTP header from your browser or mobile application. We track your activities if you click on advertisements for CookScanner services on Third-Party platforms such as search engines and social networks, and may use analytics to track what you do in response to those advertisements.
We may, either directly or through Third Parties we engage to provide services to us, also continue to track your behavior on our own Platform for purposes of our own customer support, analytics, research, product development, fraud prevention, risk assessment, regulatory compliance, investigation, as well as to enable you to use and access the Platform and pay for your activities on the Platform. We may also, either directly or through Third-Parties we engage to provide services to us, track your behavior on our own Platform to market and advertise our services to you on the Platform and Third-Party websites.
19. Cookies policy
CookScanner uses “cookies” in conjunction with the Platform to obtain information. A cookie is a small data file that is transferred to your device (e.g. your phone or your computer) for record-keeping purposes. For example, a cookie could allow the Platform to recognize your browser, while another could store your preferences and other information.
